JAX MIDI Module&Player is nothing more or less than a fully featured GM (General MIDI) / Roland GS Standard sound module, multi-timbre on 16 MIDI channels with included Standard MIDI file format player. It is specifically available as an app extension (AudioUnit AUv3) but also works as standalone app.
JAX Chromatic Compander is a 32 chromatically tuned bandpass filter bank with a compressor/expander combination on each frequency band. The audio effect is completely coded in Apples floating point vector (SIMD) extensions, where 4 floating point values are processed in one CPU cycle at ones. This makes this kind of new highly complex signal processor even possible with excellent audio performance.
